Front seat recommendation for an Anglia

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by Sailing Now, Sep 26, 2013.

  1. Could use some help finding what buckets seats would fit in a 48 Anglia street rod. Comfort would be nice, power too if available. I've got about 40" for the pair at the widest point.

  2. There are not many real narrow buckets that also have power. I had some 60s Datsun roadster buckets that were the smallest I could find. Now I have some Triumph ones. I believe I saw a car on here with cut down Fiero frames? Good luck.

Had the same issues with my Austin gasser with space. You'll find that even the narrowest buckets will touch each other when installed. I started out with swap meet Harwood racing buckets, but quickly realized they didn't have enough padding. I have CJ5 style buckets now, and they are comfortable, and only 19" wide at the widest. Plenty of padding, and comfortable, but not fancy.

In my Falcon I used mid 70's MII buckets, recovered and headrests omitted. They are the same width, but a lot nicer looking. Not any better padding, but also comfortable.

Try Austin-Healey bugeye Sprite seats. Miata seats are pretty narrow as well (I believe 19.5" across the bottoms)
