Hi y'all I am looking for a replacement cartridge for this filter housing it has a N-1603 part number on the top. Went to purolators web site but no luck, wondering if there was a new number that would work or some where I could cross reference it thanks Posted using the Full Custom H.A.M.B. App!
That housing looks to be the same size as a Ford bypass filter. Those use a cartridge measuring 4" diam by 4 7/8". The gaskets in the center of the ends are 9/16" ID. I use a Wix 51006.
I am planing to use it for my 51 Desoto flathead 6 my car now uses a sealed type filter that is a little expensive Posted using the Full Custom H.A.M.B. App!

In my 49 230 flathead 6 I used a hastings. They are readily available at most better autoparts stores, like NAPA. Not Autozone.... I sold it a few years ago, and gave the guy the extra filters I bought so I don't have the number. It resembles a minnow container for fishing, and Hasting gives you both O-ring with the filter....
