My boy and I are starting to formulate a plan for our truck project. It is a 41 Hudson BIG BOY.

Like to see it in yellow and orange or any other color you choose. Who can help?

I never reply with my opinions, since it's your vehicle to do as you please, but in this case....... YELLOW??????, ORANGE??????? Please tell us you're joking! That thing is perfect as it is, make it run and drive it. :)

And it looks like great paint already...

Yellow or orange are 2 that I wouldn't pick for that truck. It's too big for those colors, like the municipality trucks or heavy equipment. Bigger vehicles tend to look better in darker colors and smaller vehicles tend to look better in brighter colors. Possibly white if you want to something brighter.

Maybe you just hate green but it really looks great that shade and color. I might suggest Black fenders and running boards but since you are thinking yellow you probably wouldn't like that. Maybe that late 40s beige ish cream color with some white accents would brighten it up for you.

Those 20 foot shots don't show how bad it needs paint to protect it again.

Yes the green looks good on it and is different than all modern cars. Just want to see if someone can help us with photoshopped colors.

It looks perfect green. Leave it. If you want to change tbe color you might want to think about something else that truck is way to cl***y for yellow or orange anything!

nothing wrong with that paint, and those photos are not 20 feet away... maybe 10.

it's survived this long without someone making it look like hammered ***, it'll survive a little longer i think. leave it alone, and remember, you asked for opinions

Thanks Moose! That don't look too bad. Have to show the boy. Can you do a front view?

The pics were taken while the truck was wet coming out of a carwash. The paint was done in the early 70's and was put over the baked off original paint. It looks bad when it dries off.

This truck has survived 70+ years, hope to get at least that many more.

See if there are any photoshop experts out there? Much easier to dream about colors this way than doing it for real.

The paint is in bad shape. For this truck to continue lasting, it has to be painted, inside and out.

I'm not a huge green fan, but it does kinda suit that truck. That's going to be ALOT of bright, if you go orange or yellow. Might look cool for a while, but sooner (most likely) or later you're gonna start thinkin' wtf did I do that for? How about a dove gray, or crème, then do the wheels bright (orange maybe?) & a pinstripe to match. JMO, and a very neat truck ya got there.
