soooooooooooo whats the story with these? were they a factory item? and if so what model.

were they an aftermarket item? and if so who made them?

if they are hard to come by, what would one expect to pay for one?

    thanks guys, Jason

The only ones I know about were 1946-48? Lincoln V12 steering wheels. If that's the one your looking for, they can run $100 to $400 depending on condition. Search the classifieds...there's one for trade and someone was looking for a horn button for one.

i dotn know what cars they came on, but i know that lucite isnt that expensive colored or not, the thing is lucite and celuloid are still made today even though it was a pre-plastic they still use it, now bakalite is where the gold is, they used that shit on everything IE carb spacers, knobs on 40s and early 50's mopars so i dont see why it wouldnt be a assesory that you could order off the line like rear defroster and such. and the only reason i know that about lucite and bakalite is cause my girlfriend deals vintage clothing and shit so she spends ALOT on the jewlery!! hope that helps

I think late 50's mopars had something like that too. I'm running a '47 lincoln wheel in my '47 Ford.

The Guy with the lincoln v12 answer is the winner!!!!

That is the only car with a red (clear red ) steering wheel I have searched the same subject and I have even gone as far as asking how much to make one I saw a recast one at the LA roadster show $800.00 two years ago the lincolns also had red door handle knobs and dash knobs pretty cool the guy that used to write articles (or still does) for Street Rodder Mag Rob Fortier (sorry about the spelling) has one in his 32 roadster saw it at Deuce Day 2002.

Hope that helps I love Clear red Plastic!!!!

    Reminds me of Bloooooood.....

I've seen some early chevelles with a two tone transparent red and clear wheel, with a horn bar. Kind of cool looking. I'm not sure if its the style you are after or not though.

I've seen them on ebay a couple times.
