Every mag with 172pgs worth of ads ,4 pages worth billet built bs. 2 pages worth of advertisers tech answers which turn into a another product endor*****t for a said product.

    I guess that's why I advertise in Hop-Up only, No B.S.!
My retailers can advertise in whatever mag they want though.
    whatever pays the bills:D

BTW Jim, Missed ya @ the run last week, Got some good pics of Kev's (Lees)Deuce going down Foothill. Have him email if he wants a copy.:)

BTW-I don't have a subscription to your mag, But you can mail me a years worth for free to see if has changed @ all. ;)

All of the major car mags are published for the guys who bought 1-800 parts and lost the directions to put them on. What p***es for "tech" these days is just putting on an advertiser's product.

The lack of articles on how to make stuff that actually exists in a boneyard somewhere is what ****s.

I only get two magazines and this ought to please JimA and RF, Rod & Custom and Cl***ic Trucks. R&C because it covers what I like and Cl***ic Trucks because I am trying to learn all I can about trucks and they have features on restored trucks as well.

I wonder when it was the last time a car or truck showed up in a magazine feature that didn't have a laundry list of advertiser's parts on it?

Jim, how the hell can I answer this question? I subscribe to R & C, Hot Rod, Custom Rodder, Street Rodder, Street Rod Builder, Super Rod, Hemmings Muscle Machines, Hemmings Cl***ic Cars, Hop Up, Rodder's Journal and probably a couple more that Im forgetting. For individual reasons I dislike some of the content in all of them (well, that's not true-Rodder's Journal is perfect!). For other reasons I like the content of all of them.

I am a sick sick sick SICK person and I need help. Please someone help me extract myself from this magazine fetish! We should have a support group such as AA. "Hi, my name is John and I am a magazine addict." Anyone want to join in in weekly meetings at my house? Or we could go to Barnes and Noble-they have lots of........AAAAAAAAARGH!!!!

  7. The quickest way to get 1000 reads is to post an intro with the word "CHICK" in it.

    Back to ****y mags.....

Denise, I don't need to adopt you when I'm gone. Your mom and pop have done an outstanding job up to now and I'm certain that they don't need someone else mucking things up. My daughter lives in south Florida and sure as hell doesn't want my collection (over 4000 going back to the mid-fifties) and my wife just as certainly doesn't want them-so what the hell am I going to do with them? Sure would like to find a good home for them when I do shuffle off this planet. Maybe we can work something out! What do you think?

Incidentally, the mags are all stored in plastic bags and labelled. A pain-in-the-*** job but, when you are retired what else is there to do when it's cold outside?

For all you others, this is a deal for after I'm gone.

  17. I read the same mags. too. I agree HOT ROD has really gotten good, I really liked the issue a month or so ago with the '56 Chev wagon, the '53 Studie, and the Deuce coupe...they looked like cars in my garage and my friends garages...REAL rods (and works in progress). I really like the tech in Street Rodder but most of their feature cars are "too nice", they inspire me as much as wandering around the lot of the local Lexus dealer. That issue of HOT ROD was one that really inspired me!

  18. worst -Hot Rod ,martha stewart living, street rodder, ,goodhouse keeping, mens catagory ??- *******- worst first in that order :D fav??? thats easy- is, has, and hopefully always rod n custom, even in their lowest form as part of HOT ROD, just to get too what was asked in the post  :D

All the new ones. The colors run and stain when you wipe your **** and they're not as soft and absorbant as the older ones. Also those glossy pages feel really cold when it's 12 below in the outhouse.

I think I need to clear up that my intent was not to say ANY magazines ****, it was just to prove that a negative magazine post (this one being non-commital to any ***le) would stick around much longer and get a ton more reads and responses than a positive magazine post. It worked, over 2,000 views- yep, everyone loves a bash post.

Glad to see most have a sense of humor about it.
