Old guy who works on my farm told me his dad also buried ALL his cars on his farm when they were worn out...going back to 1926! the last one he pushed down a hole was an F600 mid sixties sometime. about ten or twelve cars and trucks in all. Wierd. unfortunately Mike cant remember where his dad said the "graveyard" was..farm is about 2000 acres.oh well.
If it were in MY backyard, I'd of already had it up and out of there! Dirty's got it right.............cept make the wife hold the light! We have a river here thats banks are made from the remains of T's, A's and up until the mid 50's cars. Every so often you can pull something up. Believe me, I try. Old racers used to bury motors in the dirt to prevent rust......dig it up and run it. Hopin I go trippin on one soon! **x
I've seen a many of them that way... I can tell by looking at it, that it is a 32 3w, with a dropped axle, full race flatty, kicked in the rear, a Columbia OD, Milk Truck wheels with a set of Radirs slicks on the back, some Buick drums (on the front only...the guy couldn't afford 2 pair), some E&J lights....oh yeah, and that dropped axle is a heavy 32, not just a plan Jane ordinary axle like most of us have.... If you look carefully, you can see a signature on the dash.......looks sort of like an "E" something, can't make it out........Roth......but that "o" might be a "u" or something......can't say for sure...

story is that years back the gubment started doing flyovers of properties looking for lots of junked cars (and pot farms too I guess). so the landowners were faced with either getting rid of the cars or getting a junkyard permit. given that alot of these were rural areas the owners couln't afford either, so a good many of them buried the cars right on the property. somewhere I heard a story about 2 49 merc convertibles getting buried side by side...
I grew up on a hill made from old cars. MY grandfather ran a yard in the 50's then had to get rid of everthing. So they put a blade on an old chevy truck, filled the tires with concrete and buried everyone of them. MY dad says there wasnt anything good up there. They sold what was good and buried the rest. But we used to have chickens and when they died me and brother had to bury them. so we would go back on the hill and drop em in the holes in the ground. From the view of the creek you can see dozens of old caddys and buicks stacked on top of each other with their *** ends poking out of the side of the hill.
Flatoz, maybe you could make a small hole from your end and tell us if it still has a saveable floor?? Might save a lot of useless shoveling up here...

One of these digs would be a GREAT HAMB gettogether--beer, shovels, and tin...there could be a crew chopping the thing while another crew continued to look for the bottom...
DAMMIT! I know this pic ****s but essentially it illustrates that the roof ends in a torn and maybe cut off section. I do have a door though it isn't very solid but I do have a door. The second picture shows the back part I cleared off before I started on the front again. I realized the back was twisted and ****ty and that it appeared to no loner have a bottom, then I got depressed and started digging up the front again and then....... DAMMIT! Well thats the progress I've made so far. It kinda took the wind out of my sails but maybe theres still some salvageable stuff down there.

I gotta go to work for a while fellow enthusiasts but I'll dig it up some more tonight and show you what I got, actually I forgot to mention I found a couple old radiator hoses (or so I think) in the dirt there so there might just might be more of the car farther down, but I wouldn't count on it.
