A good friend came to me one day and said,
"I found some cars in a garage that need to be removed and you might be interested in one of them......I think its an old Ford. Like the ones you like." Hell if its an old Ford....I'm there and what's it going to cost me. After some good ole negotiating we made plans to go look at them the next day with trailer in-tow just in case he was right about the year. We drove to an old neighborhood about 30 minutes away from the shop to a house that looked very well maintained but built in the early sixties. We knocked on the door to let them know of our arrival. The little old lady told us to "just go back there and see if any of the cars might interest you, I want to sell them but I also want them gone." I walked around the house to a separate garage and opened the half rotted wooden door. I entered the dark, dusty, dead rat smelling garage and made my way past all the **** all over the floor and finally was able to get to the back of the garage................Holly $#it!

Congratulations! Looks pretty straight. Did you come with all the fenders, hood, etc?

Very nice find. How come no one ever clues me in to these finds?

That MGB would be worth something to someone as well and I think that '57 Chevy 4-door hardtop was one of the lower production number cars at that time.

  10. A true "barn find" and you didn't even use the over-used term! :eek:Just be careful how you wash it, good on you.

  11. Congratulations, Great find, I probably would have bought all the automotive related **** in there for partial resale.

Check out the Omaha Nebraska craigslist - there's a 36 radiator for sale that's set up for a SBC.

That's fantastic. Nothing like the thrill of finding untouched old steel. Congrads, I hope you have a ball with it.

Cool. Now get it done fast enough to go back & give that "little old lady" a ride around the block?
Maybe she'd get a kick outa her husband (or son's or nephews) old hobby/dream.

I like that shot of the empty space where the car used to sit. Good find, congrats!

My plans for the car is to put a 59 390 cad with a three two intake. I would like to build a early sixties ride. Split the wish bones, get a dropped axle. Maybe some Buick finned drums up front. Steal wheels... big & little ones of course. Well it really is good to just think about what can be done. I will keep posting pics and updates. The first thing I'll do to the car is some sheet metal work. Floors and rockers. I'll stab the motor and trans in when the floor is out.
