I'm doing a 1940 Ford Coupe and trying to keep it as old school as possible. It's all 1940 in the front: suspension, steering and brakes. An orginal Ford Axle (dropped, drilled and filled) will be used. It has a late 60's small block chevy engine, 400 transmission and 12-Bolt rear end. The original 1940 Houdaille Shocks (front only) are shot and need a rebuild. I'm not going to tackle rebuilding these myself. Is there anyone around still doing this? Any recommendations? Thanks for your help.
Rebuilt Shocks are expensive. I would get a tube shock convervsion from one of the Ford suppliers.{Bolt on} Try Macs or **** Spadero or Speedway. It is lots cheaper and tube shocks work better. Years ago that is what we did. All The Best Roger
