    I'm doing a 1940 Ford Coupe and trying to keep it as old school as possible.
    It's all 1940 in the front: suspension, steering and brakes.
    An orginal Ford Axle (dropped, drilled and filled) will be used.
    It has a late 60's small block chevy engine, 400 transmission and 12-Bolt rear end.

    The original 1940 Houdaille Shocks (front only) are shot and need a rebuild.

    I'm not going to tackle rebuilding these myself.
    Is there anyone around still doing this?
    Any recommendations?

    Thanks for your help.

    Rebuilt Shocks are expensive.
    I would get a tube shock convervsion from one of the Ford suppliers.{Bolt on}
    Try Macs or **** Spadero or Speedway.
    It is lots cheaper and tube shocks work better.
    Years ago that is what we did.

    Look up Bill Wzorek on Ford Barn. He rebuilt the shocks on my Sedan and it rides great.

    Check Joe's Antique Auto in M***. He has complete tube shock kits. Great guy to deal with.
