My favorite thread. One of the great resources on the planet. Here's one I stumbled across, which took a little research to identify...a 1934 Lincoln Model K gauge panel. Check out the last two pics of a restored version. I'm trying to figure out how they did that pattern. It appears to be copper over brass underneath the silver, with little black painted diamonds in the recesses. Amazing & elegant.

Early 30s dodge. 33, 34 somewhere around there. I have one I was going to use in my 35 ford.

does anyone know if anyone repops that chrome surround in the center of the dash around the gauges?? I like the simplistic look

also a noob question, but will any other dashes fit inside a T coupe?? im debating on how i wanna do the gauges in my car

I have been working on a '34 Dodge instrument panel that I placed in a '32 dash stamping that is going in my '29 coupe. the dash rail in the pic is not for a coupe, but is just for the photo.

I bought the panel from Gene Winfield many years ago and recently had new instruments installed.

Small correction Russ, that's a '33, below is what a '34 Dodge looks like (often confused because they're so similar).

Uncle Bob, you are right, I just keep forgetting which of those two years this dash came from. Once I look at my notes, it is written down as from a 1933. I find both years quite attractive. BTW, do you know the technique used to make this pattern? It looks to me to be a form of engine turning where each line is created continuously, first going left, then the next going right. I would think the difficulty would be in the setup to keep a constant pressure during each pass, without digging in on fairly thin metal. ... but I am not a machinest, and maybe it is a technique easily performed on today' mills.

Mine, for my A roadster

35 Chevy dash panel-- $20 at Hershey last year.
Chrome 28/9 roadster dash rail-- traded BenD out of it.
Gauge panel-- $15 from the scrapmetal yard, removed from a late 60s Ford "crackerbox" cabover truck.
Ign switch, headlight switch, and cig lighter--free, from a 40 Ford sedan/old hot rod that got streetrodded

 Russ, congrats, that is beautiful man, I cant stop looking at it. That is nice metal work on the recess, who took the speedo up to 120 for you?

Thanks. Those '32 panels are not as flat in the middle as they look, so a bit of shrinking and stretching required at top and bottom centers I tigged 1/4" key stock behind the edge of the opening to give me something to work with on rounding the edge. Redline in Santa Clarita, CA did the update for me. This dash is for a car that I will not get serious about for at least one more year.

Russ, I don't have an answer for you about the facing process unfortunately. But it is one of the most attractive from the era.

I'd be interested in your experience with Redline. Were they cost effective, timely, and of course your evaluation of their quality?

Dash in my 39 coupe
As purchased, I didn't care for the modern looking speedo, tach and the other gauges chepos mounted under the dash. The black wrinkle paint including the trim wasn't doing it for me either.

Made a bezel backed with engine turned aluminum with early style SW, a repop sun tach on top. Built a hinge system out of the louvers to hide the stereo and a/c vent (yeah, I want modern stuff, just don't want to see it!).
While I was at it I took off the PO's billit steering wheel and put on a Grant, people think I'm nuts!

'36 Chev Low Boy Pickup.... replaced originals with Classic Instruments. Need to find "wrinkle brown" paint to match rest of dash and interior. If anyone knows about this particular finish, please educate me or let me know where it might be available.
