Photos from the GoodGuys show in Charlotte today. Nice weather, car count seemed to be down somewhat but what was there was quality. I didn't take too many pictures, just a few of things that caught my eye. Here's what happens when you bring a newly constructed A sedan to a big show like this... Lots of people crowded around this all day. It's a new build by a Rod Shop in Manchester, Tennessee. Construction looked to be first rate. It had dropped floors, so there was a surprising amount of room in there... Small block Chevy, with Cad valve covers, don't know about the sun roof(s). It's different and will attract attention. 'Reminds me a little bit of Greg Porter's Green A Sedan from a few years ago. Here's the rest... That's it, the rest are at the link in my sig.
Thanks for posting some of the Best Looking Cars I have seen in a while. The Cream really does raise to the top!!!!! Cool looking cars with a mean look to them. Jimbo
Danny, I didn't take many. It was the middle of the day with full sun and the light ****ed. For the few additional that I took, click the link in my signature. Sorry you couldn't make it. Lots of Deuces, a few I hadn't seen before. 'Hope all is well with you, see you at the g***er event in Nov.
I feel like a total hack adding my amateur pictures to the same thread as Tom's but here ya go! What a survivor! Stunning 35 Truck hauling a truck hauling a car Killer 54
Such a great car. I go back to it every year For JJ You always hear that it's nearly impossible to pull off a good chop on these cars. This one nailed it! Might have been my favorite car at the show. Always welcome in our neck of the woods! Our club member Tim's 50 Pontiac just before heading over to the Iron Lords party. Our club memebr Holly's newly finished 52 pickup. Cruising over to the shop
My buick and Ron's (******knuckles). Slightly different ride heights! Another stunning 35 Ford with an Edmunds equipped flatty The ****ie Trap! Martini time Just pain mean! No shortage of beautiful 35 Coupes this year And lastly.... THE WIZARD
Thanks for sharing That looks like a show I would like to go to one day. Do they have a swap meet area?
Here is a photo from Oct. '06 Charlotte Goodguys. If I had taken a pic from this same spot this morning, there would be no cars in the shot. Zero cars. Zero cars on the track today, where the entire front stretch and most of the back stretch used to be full. Zero cars on pit road today, look at it in '06. And note how the entire infield used to be full. Here is a shot from this morning, note the infield at turns 3 and 4, same spot in first pic:
Here is ****ie's (******Knuckles)contraption. Looks fast just sitting there. Nice job ****ie! (Note turn 4 & start of front stretch in background)
The turnout seemed ok yesterday and Friday but it's nothing like it used to be. Sunday's are just tough I think.
Good observation, What do you (or anybody else for that matter)think the reason for this is? Weather? economy? less enthusiasm for the hobby? something else? or all?
I am sure the economy has something to do with it. I enjoy going to the show a lot but by the time you register and renew you are looking at $75. I am lucky enough to live close so I don't have to get a hotel or eat out every meal but its still an expensive weekend.
