Old thread but just wanted to update you all on the RPU, I bought her 12 months ago, got her registered in Queensland and was happily cruising her until the department of transport defected me off the road....bugger I now have to put her through the full ASRF inspection process, sadly this is causing her to have to be modified to become legal. I’m trying to keep the look as best I can, but I have to get rid of the bomber seats, put new centre section in the chassis, sort the brakes, new wheels with safety bead....and then go through the whole inspection process. I’ll update pics here as I go, sadly Australian states have different rules and this makes it hard for us military guys to have rods when we move often.
How she looked before I got defected, I didn’t want German crosses or US Star....I like to be a little different I added commercial headlights and a few minor details... The 33 pickup is my wife’s and a mate owns the chopped 52 Chevrolet Ute.
Whilst she is off the road being made legal for his state, I am adding a few little things. 300hp 302 Windsor, tricked auto and 4:11 lsd for the 8” Some nice Austin Healey seats Might need a new shifter and exhaust too, wait and see I guess
Was running around Perth years ago,not much road time though,a magnet for a sticker here also, much the shame.
