Been looking for a late 20's early 30's car this year. Nothing radical or projects, just basic stock car to enjoy and tinker.

Came across a 1930 chevy 2 door. interior & mechanicals are good just dirty. body painted eons ago or just a poorly prepped one as its pealing. Good thing is it all metal and very little rust or filler except rear p*** fender. Tires are newer WWW and engine turns by hand. Havent attempted to start it. Has dual side mount tires and looks like a trunk was there but now missing. Car complete otherwise.

Did some research and haven't found much for recent sales/ comparable examples. Seen some restored ones in the early teens. This is not that quality w/ a good bot of elbow grease and $.

I understand they are not as popular as their Ford counterparts which leads to question "what is this thing worth/ should pay?" 2500, 3k, 4k, more?

Sedan or coupe? How is all the wood in the car in case you are not aware the body is sheetmet attached to a wood buck if the wood is not in good shape it is a big project to replace . If you are busing a hot to plan on replacing all the structural wood with steel

Intents are to clean it up, prop a quick paint and address mechanicals in need to be able to drive the car. Not planning on major surgery or modifications at this time.

Not a bad looking car while it's not a ford it is a lot harder to find a solid gm car of the same era the wood is the big factor. What happens is the wood rots and the body falls apart so a lot of the time there is just pile of sheetme left. This car looks compleat which is good stArt as parts are very hard to find and if you go the hot rod route be prepared to spend as you will hAve to modify most parts to fit. All that being said I think this car is probably worth 5k easy I paid more for my 31 pontiac 5 window coupe in similar shape and it took me 25 years to find one

won't sell at 4k in these times.

the car flippers are out of the market due to the dwindling project market, so that has dropped the "retail" or "end user" prices on cars.

most sellers don't believe this until they see that the car simply won't sell.

I'd be leary at 3k unless you never want to resell it.

The market will not recover on these oldies, especially projects
