I've been eyein' this '55 for about 4 and half years now. Been asking the owner about once a year if he'd sell it. Well about two weeks ago he called me up and said I can buy it from him. Besides the dents it's a super solid car. Hasn't been registered since '79 and sat in a barn till today. Almost no rust besides surface. Pretty stoked to drag it into the daylight today. Not sure if I'm going to keep it or flip it to help find my '55 project at ***. Thought you guys would like to see it though. Tomorrow I'll drag it down to the tire shop in town and see if I can replace those rotten tires....found some the right size off our silage piles at the dairy Posted using the Full Custom H.A.M.B. That is my all time favorite truck. I have on in parts all over my barn. Once my A is on the road that one is next. Plan on getting it together with my twin boys so they can learn how to drive in it. Need to find a rolling frame for it. I stripped the old one a long time ago and now I have changed my plans.
Nice looking truck. Be sure to check inside the roof, right above the windshield, for rust. Hopefully the mice haven't gotten in there.
Sweet!!! Check out our build on Jeff's 58!! http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=755576
Used to have one. Mine was an old Georgia state highway department truck. Originally a 6 with 3 on the tree, previous owner had swapped in a 283.
57 hood and it used to be the same color as my old 57. This was sevral years ago,I hadnt done much to it yet but I was driving it every day as it was my only personal vehicle.
That's a pile of chopped up corn covered in plastic and weighted down with thousands of used tires. That's where I found 4 "new" tires for the truck so it can roll around. I wrote a caption by the pic
I'm liking that car hood ornament on the truck. I going to be on the look out for one at the swap meets. Like to have something to look for.
That's awesome Squirrel! That's why I have the truck for sale......I'd rather hold out for something that'd fit the whole family.
