I hear alot about these guys....could somebody school me on them. Perhaps some pics of hotrods they've built. Thanks
I was at their place 5 weeks ago, only thing i can say, they have really good hands! I'm not sure if i can post my pics because it's a private place!, i ask them first
Jay and Joe have built several cars for members of our club. They do excellent work, all traditional stuff. Here's a couple of pics. First is a deuce roadster they built for Brent Bodily.
No pics...but they rule. End of story! I went to college and took some cl***es with Joe. He and Jay are really nice guys, and ultra talented.
Really like there work. Seen a couple of cars of theres in RC a couple years ago. Really liked the shirt of theres that I got for as a gift last year, "Kennedy Bros. Bomb Factory!"
Are they pretty low profile on how they do things? You never see much about them and yet everything they do is great. How come they don't get as much attention as some other builders...have they just not been discoverd by the m***es or do they stay under the radar on purpose? Man they build cool stuff. They don't even have a web site do they?
two very talented individuals whith absolutly no chips on their shoulders....too bad there isnt more guys like them around..........
Joe and Jay are extremely nice and kool guys. I bought my '34 Ford truck cab from Joe at the LA Roadster show a few years back and went to their shop in Pomona to pick it up. What a place. Neat stuff everywhere you look. There father is Bob Kennedy, a very well known woodgrainer in the Early Ford V8 circle. I met him through a good friend, Dan Krehbiel. If I had half the talent they have, I would **** myself and never take a bath. I know you posted 2 pics, but PLEASE post another pic of the '41 Merc coupe they built. I have never seen nor heard of that car until now, and even that small pic gives me the biggest ***** I have ever had in my life. I LOVE '41 Mercs. They also built a great looking '32 5 window that ran in Street Rodder a bit ago. It was black and hiboy, running a flatty. Gorgeous car. I think it sold for around $65,000. I believe they also just finished a blue Deuce roadster, but I haven't seen any coverage yet.

"Almost like Steve Donnell !!!!" Except they get stuff finished (He painted, did all the body work, and the cool fab stuff like my tool box/battery box on my car just in case anyone is wondering...in other words a local builder that rocks!)
They're So-Cal Speed Shop w/o the fluff, overhead, media, marketing, hype, unnecessary people...in short, probably two of the most talented guys around who don't give a **** if they ever get noticed (though it's a little late for that).
Thanks for the info guys....I knew that they must be the ****. Everybody always talks so highly of them. Keep the pics coming! Any mags I can pic up with some of there cars in them?
Have a few snaps taken a few years ago that may or may not be the Kennedy's shop. Top Secret Pics Mart
custom car magazine over here had a 2 page feature about them and their projects a coupla years ago, done by simon watts if i remember correctly...sure i`ve got it somewhere monkey
Laidoutford, the only other shot I have of the 41 Merc is one I took at Joe and Jays shop when it was being built. The Merc was to be Jay's personal car, but Lynn bought it part way through the build and had them finish it.
Mick - are those cars here in Utah?? I have never seen them around.. very cool post.. I have heard about them also, but not much else.
The 36 was my rent-a-rod at the Pomona swao meet a couple years ago, had a real tough time giving it back! Hooligan, Lynn keeps the 36 in California but the 41 and Brent's deuce are here. You gotta get out more! Mick
I know they did Mike Ness is 36 Ford and it's clean. Been trying to look for a website find one let me know
