Projects Anybody have any Custom Grille Ideas for a 57 Ford?

Hello,

I'm looking for any pics or inspiration for some custom grille ideas for a 57 ford ranch wagon. I was going to roll with a 54 Chevy grille but it just doesn't look right. Besides a stock or tube grille. Any ideas?

Personally i was planning a vette grill. Hopefully soon but more than likley next summer. Think that would look ***y.

A friend used a '58 Olds grille in his '57 Ford...looks like a straight-bar grille...don't know how hard they are to find tho...

'57 DeSoto is hard to beat.



And there's nothing wrong with the '54 Chevy! ('56 PU headlight rings are aces.)



Edsel sheet metal also looks good.

 

53-54 Chevy can't be beat.

 

Personally, I think the stock 57 Ford grill looks better than any other grill I have ever seen.

 

That's a gorgeous car.....the side pipes are lame tho...its like "if 1 is good, 3 has got to be better..! but, you could park that in my driveway anyway.

 

FWIW U-235...those "3 side pipes" you think are lame (plus the rest of that Ford retractable) raked in $72,000 at an auction...guess someone else liked 'em better than you do...everyone is en***led to their own opinion, thanx for posting yours.

I gotta ask, are you changing the grill to make the car look better or just to make it a custom? There can be a difference, stock Ford grill looks pretty good to me.

And, no, I'm not saying leave everything stock. If I had another 57 Ford, the first thing I'd do is swap the frog eyed headlights for a setup out of a 56 Ford pickup.

 

I'm with crazy Steve, I always wanted to put a 59 "floating star" grill on mine. If you do post the pictures on how its done!

 

I always liked the aftermarket chrome tube grills in 57s.

Me too...they looked sweet back then.
