Wanted to show off some of the work we have been doing on our 51 Kaiser Special. I know I can't top the other Kaiser built here, but I hope this will
be a pretty good east coast custom!

The day I bought it was almost its last day. The owner was getting his trailer around to haul it off for s****. $400 later I was the proud owner of this beauty!!

Hard to see but my daughter helped steer it up the trailer.

fours years later I'm finally working on it. At least it has been inside.

Rebuilt the front suspension and cleaned it up a bit. The old continental is gonna go. Just picked up 318 that is off getting rebuilt.

    Getting ready for blasting.

Back from blasting. Lots of rust to fix, as usual.

    Filled the gas door.

Fit the doors to the new rocker.

    Suicide the rear door.

Make the body line a little more pronounced. [IMG]

Start of the new lower quarter. We made the panel on our c-frame metal shaper.

    Some trunk repair.

Trimmed the rest of the bad spots on the quarter.

    New piece tacked in.

    Bottom piece added.

    All welded and ground.

    Finish ground.

Some allmetal to smooth out the seems.

Here is a link the rest of the photo's.

Cool! There's a fairly nice and complete one up here in a junkyard in alaska. Really a bummer it's out in the yard. Hope they don't squish it.

Finally got some times the last couple weeks to make some progress on the Kaiser. Replaced the right front floor pan, repaired the right rear p***enger compartment body mount, installed the 1955 Packard trunk hinges, rounded the corners of the decklid and built a roll pan.

I really am. I really like the way the back end is turning out. Just wish I could move along a little faster lol.
