I've got a good marine head for my 181 Chevy ii banger that I'm getting ready to send to the machine shop what all can or should be done to this head I'm going with screw in studs and roller rockers for sure. What about valve size and a good port job. I'm a bit out of my element with a four banger Chevy as I've always done fords

First, i'd make sure your intake manifold and headers will fit. The 181 head and factory Chevy II head can be much different in that area.

I just read about these engines yesterday evening. Below is the thread I started on. Don't know if there is anything there to help but it was interesting. You have to start at top and click the forward arrow on right until you find the Marine Engine info. Maybe nothing but worth reading.

Ok, then you'll be fine. As far as what mods to do, installing bigger valves and some light porting will help out.

They already have 1.94 IN and 1.6 Ex ,ya really think you need more? For a street engine a good valve job and knock any flash off the ports and be done with it.
