Hello everyone. Let me get down to business here. I own a 1936 Plymouth P2 Deluxe Sedan. I recently purchased an engine from a fella in Georgia that came out of a 1936 Plymouth. Here's where things get sticky, that engine and transmission was originally out of a 1939 Plymouth. Now I have the wonderful privilege to either take both my engine and the 1939 engines bell housings off. (which I have no clue how to do) and place the 1936 bell housing onto the 1939, or start taking all the good parts off the 1939 (pistons, rods, valves, etc), have the original engine bored and dipped into whatever solution professionals use to remove all the rust, buy new rings and start from scratch with my old engine block.

My ultimate goal was to rebuild the original engine from stem to stern. I would also like to put stronger valve seats in because it would be nice to put modern pump gas in it.

For the love of god and country please help!

If you don't know how to swap out a bell housing provided it isn't cast as part of the engine block, how are you going to build a motor?
