Today i tryed to connect my shifter (original ) to my ****** and was wondering why there was a slot instead of a hole. And of course , it did not work, so i guess i loosed something back in the day when i took everything apart. Could anyone tell me what is wron or what i do missing ?
WHATS UP DENIZ do you have a better photo of the linkage bar ? it looks like the part you are showing is part of the kick down . I believe there might have been a block with a bolt to secure part of the adjustment for the kickdown (along with a rod and spring) might be wrong , but that is what I remember todd
That is what I am thinking, it looks like part of the kickdown linkage and not the actual shift linkage. The hole for the shifter rod to go through should be perfectly round with a bushing in it..
nope , this was what i was thinking too:-( But it is the shiflinkage :-( If i stick it in the slot a icant select the gears :-( Hey Todd so far everything okay, wanna get the beast back on the track
I was just working on my kick down linkage last week. I don't really recognize the slotted lever you've pictured so im not much help there. I can tell you that adjusting the kickdown linkage (when you get that far) makes a HUGE difference. jeff
What's the trans out of? Most Mopars, that shift rod goes ahead to the shifter on the column. I'm guessing yours came from a midsize car with a floor shifter? But I can't imagine why the hole is slotted, that will make for slack and sloppiness unless there are some parts missing.....
OK, took a closer look at the pic, that rod going up goes through the floor to a floor shifter, right? If so, can it be put in the other way up, so whatever lever is now up top will be down by the trans? Just thinking out loud here....
what is the year and model of car? Is the transmission the original one, or is it from a different car?
Okay i found the missing part, exactly the slot is for adjustement whrese you screw on a other lever ... thin it works will post a pic at friday
