Not to get caught up in any rust/patina/resto debate but I agree, it looked pretty neat before...

 

Thanks I had it stripped with the dustless blasting system it uses gl*** bead and water it only took them an 1 1/2 to strip the body hood grill shell and trunk lid. The body ended up better than I thought just a couple pinholes and a little fine tuning and it will be ready for paint in December. I have a build thread on the car

 

I'm just not a fan of patina especially faketina even though it would have saved me some bucks

 

Do you have a kitchen in your shop, or a garage door in your kitchen? Either way the car looks good….

 

Yes that is the original visor this is a 31 pontiac

 

I didn't know what make it was...had to look on your profile. '31 Pontiac...cool. Looks solid as a rock, and an excellent palette to work with now. We know the GMs had more wood than some of the other makes, and I always thought I'd avoid them...but I really like the style of this coupe. So let me ask...are the doors totally framed in wood with a metal skin? Or is it less extensive than that? Look at that firewall...it looks like it's ****on tufted! Nice visor too. Overall, similar to a Model A but different. Maybe better. I love it.

What are your plans? Fenderless/hoodless? Chopped? GM engine? Nailhead would be awesome.

Fenderless, not sure if you're gonna chop the top. Overhead cam inline six...Pontiac, right? And a stick-shift. Neat.

31 Poncho...can't be many of those around anymore...great lines!

 

The whole body is basically a wood buck with the sheet metal nailed to it. All the wood has been removed and replaced with steel the only wood left is in the doors me around the trunk. The body has been chopped 3 inches and has a 5" channel. The engine is a pontiac ohc6 with a muncie 4 speed

Yes it is the original firewall it has been reversed

 

Patina is sorta-OK if we are discussing an original paint job that is faded and scratched. "Faux-tina" is pure BS! Primed and painted is ALWAYS the way to go! Good on you for doing such a nice job on that body, and so quickly, too!
