Trying do get more room in a 30-31 A coupe. A couple of people mentioned building the coupe with sedan doors. Any one have any pictures of a car built this way? Are they cutting the car in half and lengthening the whole body or just moving the door jamb to make easier entry?
If you want more room, and you are putting it on a 32 ch***is, it would probably be easier to make the body longer. Anyone have a pic of the "Green Grenade"?
To get more leg room I guess a tudor sedan doors and lengthen the body. If you just shift the pillar back with the longer doors the seat would be still in the same place so you will achieve diddly squat. Have you removed the little parcel tray and shift the seat back ?
I'm interested in seeing this too.. After all if your needing a door, anyone selling them (even on here) claims they will fit both! ....amazing Posted using the Full Custom H.A.M.B. App!
Are you moving the firewall back into the body to accommodate a large engine? Removing the package tray and moving the seat back will gain about 5"+/-. Post some photos of the car. Using a longer door to gain a room would require a rework of the curved panel and structure frame above the door, should only be attempted by an experienced builder. There are a lot of cars sitting right now where someone thought the body modifications would be a simple cut and weld job.
Check out the Green Grenade 1931 Model A Coupe, Google it or you may be able to find it right here on the HAMB, I believe I read one time that it has sedan doors on it.
