Well, I got a fair amount done today. I got it all mocked up, again. I had ordered a Vern Tardell K-member but that fell through. Anyway, I went back to my own tranny/pedal support. Not much is welded; whole tranny mount, wish bones, radiator, engine mounts, etc. I like the stance. However, I know it will be MUCH higher in the rear because I didn't Z it. So, eventually, I'd like to bring that down to earth and maybe even put some 500 or 550 tires on the front to get it a bit lower. When I had originally started, I liked AV8's to have a little bit of height, but now I like the ones with a heavy Z in the rear and suicide front similar to XADAMX (sp??)...... When you actually see it at this point, it really motorvates ya! Also, I have a stock fire-wall for it laying in the corner. A guy gave it to me but it's bent pretty good. It'll give me something to practice on and if I screw it up.......it was free and I learned something! EDIT: ignore the flames and the moon eye, a buddy of mine found my soap stone one day......while we listened to an old 50's stock car driver tell tales, he did that..

Ahh, progress! You gonna chop the grille, or just sink it real low between the rails? You gotta get you some insulation in that garage....I don't think winter is gonna be a myth this year!!!
You sure aren't kiddin' on the insulation! I've been pondering how to get some.....watching classifieds and asking people. I'm taking a refrigeration class and the instructor gave me a 100-125k BTU gas furnace and a 2 ton AC condensing unit......gonna be nice! Anyway, I bout a really nice used Walker radiator so I'm stuck with the height right now. But, yes, it needs about 3" whacked out of it! I don't care as much for chopped grilles, so I'll just sink it down. But, like I said before, I'm stuck right now.....no big deal...
Hey Youngin, I been wondering how you were doing with your build. It looks like you got past your dropped axle problem and fan/rad clearance OK. Do you have a rear end under it yet? Thanks for the pics and the update!!
Yeah, I've run into a lot of snags! But, if everything would have went smoothly, I wouldn't have learned a thing.......seriously.... No, no rear axle yet. I want to establish where my engine sits and my pedals, then I'll work from there back. I've made my own perch hangers for the rear. I just haven't welded them yet. It's looking like I'm going to have to order a new reversed eye rear spring.....original too long I think. Grandpa says, "Ah, weld the d*mn thing! I've welded hundreds of big truck springs and hot rod springs....never broke a one......" But, I know it really changes the make-up of the metal.......we'll see.... It looks a lot further along than it is........got me a set of Guides off of Titus......and a few other things......gonna turn out alright, I think... Yep, been wondering where you're hiding too.......
