    I just got a 1952 packard 200. Are there any other hamb guys that have a 1952 packard ?

    Yes more than one. Do a search for Packard and see what turns up.

    I need help my Packard transmission goes from low to high put when i come to a stop its still in high and not low.

    Normal. They only had 2 speeds. High was the main gear, low was for emergencies. Only from 54 on they had a Gear Start Ultramatic, it started in low and shifted to high. Before that they just started in high unless you shifted to low manually.

    Bet thats a relief to the op, Not just any old joe would know that, So thumbs up to ya Rusty:cool:
    ....but he did say it started out in low at first so???

    I start it off in high i can shifted it into low manually. I drive it in high all the time. When i come to a stop in high it jerks and wants to stall and die.

    Some time in the cars life someone changed the engine to a 1953 327 with a Carter WCFB 4-Barrel Carburetor Carb on with a manual choke.

    Have you considered a modern th 400 or something? as I recall that original trans was cast iron and weighed as much as a VW.
