If you only like VW's why are you here? Seems you left the door open and some other VW guys followed you.

So, this is a Ford site? Or a Chevy site? Or maybe it's a Dodge site? I'm confused as to what manufacturer, specifically, this site is all about.

I dig the same style of junk you do. There are other folks on here posting pics of Hillmans, Anglias (I know) and all other sorts of oddballs. I'm trying to figger out why VW's are being singled out?

    Haha.

chickengeorge - The thing is, the VW agrument has been done a lot on the HAMB. And somehow it's been turned into "moderators hate VW's" when that's really not the case.

That said, the fact still remains that this is a place focused on traditional hot rods and customs. And VW's just don't align with that very well.

Look, no moderator is going to h***le you solely for liking VW's, but posting pictures of Hidalgo's '64 and trying to sneak in with some ******* hippie bus just won't cut it. :)

its a traditional hot rod site. most around here agree, vw's aint traditional hot rodding. it happens every six months or so. some s*** bag waltzes in, gets her ******* in a bunch, then goes to an actually vw forum and starts talking ****. its normal. there are plenty of respectable vw people here, and they sit back and learn, and post hot rod related topics. two of them im sure you have heard of, but im not naming names.

a lot of the vw guys like to refer to themselves as thinking outside of the hot rodding box. kinda hard to do when everyone wants to copy the same stink bug looking vw.

i think you could probably paint a honda flat black and call it a rat rod, and get the same results

...as i asked when i started this thread, say something nice or shut the **** up.

i guess i'm not as **** as these gold chainer wannabees that think their way is the only way.

hey grimlock, it was ME that asked so these guys had the balls to go ahead and post.
they wern't asking for nothing, I was.

btw,i hate ****ing volkwagens but i like that black ****er....
only thing the germans are known for is vw's and how many jews they can put in an ashtray.

**** guys, i've said this before, vw's are more a traditional hotrod OR a custom than a 4 dr edsel/buick/olds/chevy/etc....

That's the most ridiculous thing I've ever heard.

There are no "respectable VW people".
Serioulsy though, that is the most ridiculous thing I've ever heard. What am I supposed to be learning? Yeah, you guys have no format! (sarcasm). LOL! You're all so "different" and right on the cutting edge of what's cool (more sarcasm).
"Traditional hot rod"! That's funny. Traditionally, hot rodders were trying to go faster than the next guy. Period. We are a new breed of hot rodder. We're not concerned with going faster than the next guy, but looking cooler. What kind of hot rod you got when an old lady in a lexus with traction control can take you off the line and p*** you on the outside while listening to Neil Diamond? What is happening now is nowhere near traditional hot rodding. You think somebody like Wally Parks would have turned down a set of disc brakes because they were "gay"? The closest thing to real hot rodding today are "Ricers". The rest of us are artists, not hot rod builders.

Here are a few pics of my project. I've been collecting parts, but haven't done much for a while, as I'm completely restoring a (gasp!) VW bug for a rich chick in town. It pays for my project pieces, but I'll be really glad to see it gone.

BTW, I've re-radiused the rear wheel openings, got the new Chrysler subframe/440/727 mounted, got the shifter mounted, and had a new driveshaft made. Hopefully we'll get it where it'll move on it's own again soon.

In fact, screw this. You guys can't stop puffing out your chests enough to stop and look at the hot rod content here - just go away.

But before you leave be sure to send guys like Animal and MP4/8 an apology.

That would make a cool push truck with a speed shop name on the door and a 2 by 12 for the front bumper. Maybe even some moons but I like the caps too.

I know exactly what you mean YoBaby, its a shure start everytime.
I dont use the 2x4's anymore as an e-brake, I actually fixed the e-brake, got a new dragling, redid the whole break system (didnt know mopars needed a special heel clearance tool for the drums:confused: (lucky me I was able to find one, apparently they're rare) and some minor stuff to p*** saftey inspection. Been driving it for 2 months now and I'm loving it, love the 3-on-the-tree too, I had never driven one before. This is my first vehicle to own and work on so I'm slowly learning.
Here's a pic of my first drive and the 26-7 T I picked up for $90
