Have a removable Sportable radio in good clean condition. What is a realistic value??

Hit the auction sites and contact the Pontiac Owners Clubs

  3. Do you have the mount that goes into the dash as well? Pretty much worthless if you don't.

I can't believe I have ever heard of or seen this mention of this '58 radio option!!
I see only two posts are from geezers. I had a buddy in the service who gave me a ride in his 58 Bonnie and showed me the cool pull-out radio!
Anytime I am at a show or where ever and see a '58, I mention this radio, and no owner has ever heard of it!
Good for you to have this jewel! It's like fuel injection!

The sportable radio is not exactly a big secret...pretty sure it was in the advertising lit back in the day. They can be worth some big $ depending on condition & if they are complete as far as hardware is concerned.

I would imagine these are rather rare, as most new cars in the late fifties were not bought by the younger generation, but by older folks that still thought of an in-dash radio as a novelty, more so one that cost more, and could be removed and used elsewhere.
