Event Coverage Photos from El Mirage last saturday

I'm a little late posting some photos due to some family issues.
But, I thought I'd put up a few photos from November 9th at El Mirage Dry Lakes.
This is the season final until May of 2014, so it'll be awhile before we all get another LSR fix.....

Heading towards Cajon P***, still have another 35 miles to go to get out to the lake. It's a 80 minute drive from home to the lake bed which is pretty amazing considering it's an entirely different climate, environment and a totally foreign place compared to my town.



After getting on to the lake bed it was unusually still. No wind, not even a slight breeze. All the dust was just hanging in place at about 30 feet above ground. All you can do is "point" your car towards the direction of the race course which is still a few miles away. I ended up at the far left side of the end of the course, so had to go to the right a couple of hundred yards to follow along the orange cones towards the pits. The poor guy behind me thought I knew exactly where I was going so he had to keep following me. That'll teach him.

















Nitro is so much better than coffee.
That double hint of the mountains profiled in the background didn't last long. Scenery like that to a photographer is magic.





"The Kraut Brother" had their "fun meter" badges on their uniforms and they were pegged.

I would have loved to go but grandkids are higher on the life scale. Always a great time and never fails to meet someone that has a great story about El Mirage. Glad the weather was cooperating and i can't wait for the 2014 opener.

 

Thanks for sharing, i went to bonneville last year and when i go back over to the US next year i will tick El Mirage off my bucket list as well.
