Event Coverage Royboy goes to the 2013 Pistons & Paint

I'm sure glad that I came down to Denton, TX this weekend for Pistons And Paint! About 500 cars showed up and I was able to meet new people, see new cars, and spend time with close friends along the way.

Thanks for the coverage! I didn't take a single picture.

I did however talk to the guy with the Ardun 32 roadster. Bart (Speedrome) here on the HAMB has been wrenching on it for the owner who is an elderly gentleman.. The heads are a reproduction, and the body was one of the first Brookeville units from the late 90's. Lots of cool parts on this car. They just got it running after it being in progress since the late 90's.

It's been several years since I have been to that show. The first year I went, the host club had a pre-show event at a newly remodeled bowling alley. It was great seeing the parking lot full of rods and kustoms. There were several car clubs present at the event. I spent time with the Torques; a serious group of gearheads. The carshow ran like clockwork and the entertainment was always very enjoyable. I always stayed in Denton on my way to the Roundup in Austin. One year I made 3 trips to Texas; the Torques talked me into coming to their event called the Texas Thaw. I droveto Austin for the Roundup. Later that year I stayed several extra days after P&P to avoid a snowstorm in Missouri. My neighbor plowed my driveway so I could drive home. I spread the word about P&P every chance I could. I convinced Straykat Mickey to give P&P a try. He's now a repeat customer. I'm happy that Travis from Royboy made it down finally. I always liked the name. Travis, thanks for the pictures.

 

You're welcome my friend. Thanks for the story! I really enjoyed the show and the people, I have a bunch of North Texas friends and that sure makes traveling there much more enjoyable. I'll be on the road today so I can't post any photos until tonight unless I get a minute before I leave.

 

I've went just about every year so far. The show keeps on getting bigger and bigger...the old Motorcycle display was a great addition this year. Now some port-a-potties on the other end of the field would be a welcome addition. That or I've got to get there earlier next year to get a closer parking spot.
