Does a 9 passenger Chevy wagon get respect?

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by vabeach56wagon, Oct 30, 2005.

  1. New to the forum...lots of action and great, vibrant conversation on this site...but before I venture forward, will our 60's look '56 wagon be accepted by y'all?

    Nope, sorry to dissapoint ya....

Maybe a better intro would though...

  3. OK...the car is a 3 year project, all but paint and final engine build in my garage, it's a 383, internally balanced Callies crank, Dart heads, blah blah...9" Ford 3.23 rear, TH350, 4 wheel disks, NO BILLET OR CHROME IN ENGINE COMPARTMENT...runs in 13's at 105.

Last redo before this was '61 Vette, previously: 69 camaro, 65 SS convertible, and many 55-57 Chevys, a 55 Ford convertible, a 53 Mercury sport coupe....

Only the vette was a restoration, all the others were street machines built out of junkyards and spare parts...

If I can do it myself I will; if I can't I'll find somebody who can and will teach me...

    Drive my cars daily.

Anything else you'd like to know?...just ask.

i was going to do that at the first show i took my car to, but i didn't have enough time to make a doll. it ended up that a guy in the club that was hosting the show gave out a trophy trophy to the coolest car built by a young guy in memory of his son whose car fell off the jackstands and killed him. well, i ended up getting the award, and i was REALLY glad i hadn't had time to make a doll....it would have been distasteful to say the least

  15. How you figure 9 pass?

Thats FOUR American men and a keg sized car.

    Not a Cambodian family

    HAHAHAHA you'll fit in.

BTW, 13's are VERY respectable. Some of you guys oughta try and push a 4,000 lb street car that fast.

    or take out 8 passengers!:D

IIRC there's a certain 38 coupe here that has a VERY healthy motor, that only ran 13's or so at the drags....just a little perspective for ya.

13's in that wagon is haulin.

As you've probably got tons of pictures and timeslips of your 4X4 dually going mid tens with a stock converter and 3.08 gears we'll expect you to be posting them. Of course I'll forgive you if you can only find the ones for mid 11's with the shop rag that was left in the carb throat. I double dog dare ya to post the pics/slips

heh...that all depends on which definition of "traditional" you use....

by my definition, almost none of the cars on the hamb (including mine) are traditional.

Welcome to the HAMB, I am only abour 60 miles from VAB in NC. Where is that track? I take it that it is a 1/4 track and not a 1/8 mile track? I really dig your long roof.

Q: Does a 9 passenger Chevy wagon get respect?

A: Only if the passengers are exotic dancers, they put out, and you are on your way to my house to drop them off.

Actually, anyone who frequently runs their shit at the strip pretty much gets my respect regardless of what they're running.

    Welcome to the HAMB.

accepted? you bet. i can see me driving that car. a lot.

however, i've owned vehicles from every decade from the 20's to present, except the 50's. just never got around to buying one. if i did, yours (or one like it) would be something i would be interested in possessing.

and, oh yeah, you're not the only hamber with a '56 chevy wagon.
