An excellent interpretation of what an Olds version of an El Camino might have been like.

Thanks Rich - I was pretty sure I saw it in a 36 Ford.

Dan, I don't know how you do it, but... YOU DO IT!!
Thanks for the pic of my pkp... it still has the ORIGINAL glass from Nov 1939 in back glass and BOTH halves of the windshield. The previous owner told me the 90,xxx mileage was actual mileage when he saw me at Baltimore. It was a great event and etched even more in my memory by your photos. Thank you.

I don't know what I like better---this truck,or the 32 it pulls---both really nicely preserved pieces of history!!!

It is definitely a very cool truck as is its 32 companion.

That is an original '35 Ford steering wheel. I know this because that's my car. That was a one year only wheel with little ribs molded in the gripping surface of the wheel ring. The '36 wheel "looked" like the '35 but was smooth with no molded in ribs in the gripping area.

The center of the wheel, horn button and light switch, is the same for '35 & '36 except for some colors that were unique to one year.

Dan, outstanding work on all of these pictures!! I took many of the same pictures but mine look no where near as good as yours.
I am wondering if you took any other pictures of my '35 Fordor sedan that is pictured here on the other side of the '32 sedan? If so, I would love to use one of your shots as my avatar picture. Thank you!

Thanks John and Butch, and thanks a lot, John, for the info on your steering wheel. As to your 35, the only shot I took of it was this one which is really just a snapshot. Due to the surroundings in which it was parked, I must not have seen a workable shot on it. I tried this one as a almost B&W, slightly painted, retro version. I have it also with slightly more sepia tone and full B&W. Next year, maybe we can pose it and get a much better shot of it.

I think this one will make a decent avatar, but pm me if you need other versions of it.

Anyone know for sure whether this blue one is a 28 or 29? Thanks.

The blue roadster above belongs to Nick Hoesing and the bare metal Model A belongs to Jason holland. They drove in from Omaha, Nebraska. Dave Gray and I met up with them in Ohio while driving in from Michigan. They are true hot Rodders in every sense and a blast to hang around!

  25. ......You are absolutely right, Kirk. My buddy and I had a chance to chat briefly with them and I can attest, they and their cars are the real deal.:)

  26. .

X3 on both Nick and Jason.

Kirk and I met up with them in Ohio and drove out with them. Great people and great cars. I laughed so much that weekend that my sides hurt.

Hope to do it all again next year.

Great pics Dan. I look forward to checking this thread daily for updates.

I still can't believe that Jason drove his coupe the whole way with no baffling of the exhaust:eek:

Thanks for the run down on those 2 A's and their owners. Anyone know what years they are?
