I took these photos of some of my favorites of today and yesterday.. I had my '61 Biscayne invited and was allowed to sit in the "Barn Finds" category--I was pretty happy as the cost for admitting the car in the show covered my and my girlfriends entry into the show all weekend..

    Awesome '61 Pontiac racer.

And--lastly here is a very wild '67 Valiant Flapper bodied car. Now--please read that I intend to in no way insult any of the old-school design or build manners from the era in which this Flapper was build--but I would like to say AMEN to the build/experience/engineering as it has progressed over the years. Also-let me say "HOLY ****" to the men who drove these wild vehicles. One thing-I have no knowledge of is the history of this car as far as it's progression through varying owners through the many years. Please enjoy the pictures and see the design of the ladder bars as a heads up to what I'm directing your attention at. I for one believe the ladder bars were a later design/addition as they are very poor in appearance compared with the rest of the main frame of the car with respect to welds.

From what I could gather, it's a very original Latham Supercharger setup that was put on the car in '58. However-the machining on it looks very modern and I love the cool Carter side-draft carbs.

My favorite part of the show was the drive home in my '61. So many people bring their cars in to the show with their fancy tow rigs... I drew some astounded looks when people found my '61 was driven TO the show and was destined to be driven FROM the show..

The way home was great--a fella in a '64 or '65 Malibu was headed north with me from the show--we had a few short stoplight drag races.. His big block was a little better off than mine however in his lighter weight car.. What a great time though in the 20 degree temps!

If that Ford wagon was stock it would probably be a 7 liter (428) not a Cobrajet.

  12. Killer pics, especially the "factory" racers!! I read somewhere that the quickest ever factory drag from PMD was a '59(I believe) 389 cu in super duty with a column 3 speed.
