Anyone know who built this car or where it is today? Any build pics or other information? I'm starting a 29 on 32 rails soon and this one looks just right. Thanks.
I don't think this is the same car unless the windshield has been changed. The one in my OP shows a ChrisCraft-style w/s without an top bar and the outer corners and edges are different...no vertical metal posts.
It was built by the Rolling Bones and was at Bonneville in 2011. The upper windshield frame is used when the top is installed otherwise left off. They redid the car a year or so ago for the owner in a patina similar to many of their cars.
Randy had his roadster for less than a week when he met us in Altoona IA and went to Bonneville . He had to get back to Wisconsin and didn't have time to drive her back home so he left her at Chris's shop and had her shipped home. A racer at heart Randy had her up to 120 mph in Nebraska on the trip, he didn't get a ticket BUT Richie and Ron did . Not happy with her " FRESH AS A DAISY " look he brought her back and had us put fifty years of daily use and weekend lakes racing on her. Sort of how an old pair of jeans just fit , feel and look better .
Lynn, YES! That's the car in my original post. Thanks! The car I now have belonged to Chris at Salt Flats Speed Shop. I tried the SFSS site but couldn't find any pics. Thanks.
So am I understanding that the car in the pic posted by Pewsplace and this one are, in fact, the same car?
Am I confused ? Are you the same guy I sent a slide show of pictures of this hot rod to this morning while smelling the turkey in the oven ? Yes that's the same hot rod . Built by us . Owned by Randy from Wisconsin . Left at Chris's shop after her one way maiden voyage to Bonneville with us. ???
Is that car built on the "Standard" Rolling Bones ch***is? Looks like it sits lower than the Coupes. If my '30 comes out this nice I'll be a very happy guy. Happy Thanksgiving! Bob
I think you have the correct car to give you inspiration for you new project. I am still copying your top on your AVATAR 33 roadster from a few years ago.
