Looking for Something else I ran across this photo, there is not too much info that accompany's the picture but it said it was a Model T Flathead powered lakes modified that his dad bought for a whopping 25 bucks.

It went on to say that he took auto shop at Oakland Technical High School and often rebuilt engines,,he was only interested in fast cars and easy women.:D HRP

    Cool pic.
I use to see him crusing around Toluca Lake/Warner Bros./Riverbottom bar area in the late 70's early 80s in his then new lowered chevy pick up.

I think I have heard he was like 14 or 15 when he took his roadster for its first road trip.

Well he's 83 years old now and he was in High School so 16 or 17 years old is is my guess.

Too bad no one her knows him personally, his prospective on hot rods from that time period would be a interesting read. HRP

Several years ago I was reading a magazine, not car related, that had a story on Clint. In the story it mentioned his having a "32 Ford roadster". I don't remember what the mag was, or why they mentioned the car. I did some research then but could not find any other mention of Clint having a hot rod.

been watching him on Saturdays on "Rawhide". it is odd to see him as a regular cowboy and not the "don't **** with me" character we all know.

I met Clint at the Pebble Beach Concours a few years ago, when I was showing a car there. He came up and asked a number of questions about the car. Super neat guy and really interested in cars.
He got a kick out of it when I introduced myself.

i've heard for most of my life he is a pretty big car/motorcycle guy and supposedly a big horse lover as well. since i grew up in both of those worlds he was always one of my favorite celebs. he also reminds me a bit of my grandad who was my true idol in life....ken....

Even if Clint is a car guy, he can't measure up to Pwood in that regard.

I remember when P-Wood and another Westcoaster came to Gordon Leland's shop in San Antonio to pickup an engine. My wife is still pissed at him for convincing me that my freshly-primered '34 2dr. was finished. I think these two even drank a couple National Beers of Texas. Rubbin elbows with the P-Wood. Don't get no better than this.
