We Love Sedan Deliveries

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by Bill McGuire, Sep 12, 2013.

  1. this is a 49 Pontiac sedan delivery I did for my wife's brother. 3 1/2 years, interior to be completed but this is what I have so far. Paint and body done by myself, as well someone had tried to clip the front end and in the process made it 2" to long and the front wheels were to far forward so I cut and rewelded the clip in it's proper position. Also there were no taillights so it was decided to use 39 ford tail lights.

  2. Looking at the windshield, it definitely looks chopped. Chevy Delivery experts, please feel free to step in and school me.

Strolling through the pictures and ran across the 50 Chevy with the blue fender and green hood. I owned that car about a year ago!

Presently working on a 55 Chevy SD that I restored for my dad 20 some years ago to get it back on the road. Dad is gone and the car sat for many years but will be driven again soon.

It's chopped. A friend owned it. The original builder chopped it after it rolled over one night. Rear door is laid forward about 3". It's fast, has a fully chromed 400 SBC.

Sedan deliveries are far enough off topic. This one is close to getting closed.

Having just got mine I would like to hear what others think of the original IFS. I want the car to handle well at modern highway speed. Is it fine just the way it is..never owned a Chevy of any kind before. The rear suspension I will keep stock..I think. The body will be kept stock in appearance..splash some paint on, get an engine under the hood. We are looking at this car as a more practical ride than our 41 truck.

How fast will you be cruising? Ever drive a ride w/out disk brakes in modern driving situations?

Hey, I tried to rescue it as best I could.

Sedan deliverys are way cool. 68 Pontys, maybe not so much.

At least, if we get the knife here , we can decamp to the longroof thread
