Anyone drive a rad 50's or 60's car all winter?

6 months of winter is wayyyy to long up here to be without a cool ride.

    Lets see some pics!!

Not really a daily beater but a fun car to drive to the Sunday morning "church" at the Dunkin Donut shop when it's cold. I can get a small fix hearing it back down in 2nd gear.:D Ya get your grins whenever you can in January.

    yeah lets seem em'.

dont dont give us no "it handles bad in crappy weather, or you dont want it to rust a shitty light weight rice burner or s-10 is going to handle just as bad and if if you replace the rockers once you can do it again....well that and maybe the salf would get you thinking about getting that car out of primer and into something a little more protective ;)

i know theres pix of the rocky 33 floating around here with snow up to the axels! lets see em!

  5. Don't know that it counts as Trad, but I drive the Pusher 365 days a year.

Its rough as a cob and probably not the fastest ride I've ever owned but its healthy and dependable.

How bout a traditional paint scheme on a non-trad ride? I drive a '91 Caprice wagon. Silver w/blue flake roof and Salt-Flat Specials.

Unless something terribly cheap yet dependable falls in my lap (hey it happens more often than I'd ever expect it to), I'll be driving this one over the winter. I used it last winter too, but was only driving like once or twice a week while I got over back surgery. This one doesn't bother me to drive in the winter...the one from texas with no rust? No way!

Give it another month or so...I'll have a good snowy pic!

    DirtyT...I see the Elkie...sweet!

    It 's 11:27 AM and it's 88º ƒ outside.
I''m sittin' here in a pair Dickies shorts and a T shirt with the air conditioning on full blast.
What is this Winter phenomenon of which you speak?

Not necessary a daily driver since I have a company car during the day, but I drive it anytime I can, rain or shine....sure beats taking the Chrysler van to the hardware store !

You suck. Let's all send him a dump truck full of snow in a couple months and have it dropped all over his driveway. Oh yeah make sure they do it right before he has to go to work, too...and follow him around with it so he can't escape it for a few months.

    Bastard.

I've been waiting all year for the winter to come so I can drive my cars comfortably. The high here is 90 degrees today, the low is 63. Around here its basically the reverse of most the country. All the shows and swap meets (not that theres many in town) are starting back up.

That's ok... In a couple months there will be pleanty of snow right here in the Los Angeles area mountains, within an hours drive.
We can actually water ski in the Ocean and snow ski in the mountains on the same day if we want too.... :D :D

Rub it in, rub it in....

Winter beater? Different from a summer beater? I drive the same thing to work all the time, why not? The AC and the heater both work.
    What is snow?

We have one car and two bikes so everything is a full time driver. We get a lot of rain but very little SNOW so it's not that hard, just wet.

When its the coldest it will get all year i can drive with my windows down. I think i might actually enjoy a real winter, it would give me an excuse to put my car out of commision to actually DO something to it.

Well...it's not actually my winter beater, but it has been driven many time's in not so good weather..i even put a heater in it.
Forget rain, it's been in so many fucking rain storms it's not even funny..
I used to go home at lunch from work and grab it during the winter months when the road wasn't too bad (kinda like in the pic) and bring it back to work just for the shock factor..plus i just like driving it..
    It was fun.

This pic was when i was bringing it to a buddy's place to store for a little while while i was doing paint work on my 53..
I havn't done it like i used to though..our winters have been a lot worse these past couple years..and we've just had too much snow to even screw around with it..I don't want to wreck it.
