Well I've been collecting vintage engines over the last couple of years. Try to find them on CL and buy them cheap. Now I just need to decide which one to use/rebuild. 401 Nailhead, 331 Caddy, 292 Y-Block. Keeping my eye out for a '50s Olds or Desoto Hemi. A 368 Lincoln, now that would be cool too...

Flathead is NOT one of my choices. Just won't have enough hp to move my car.

Got two more caddy 331s with automatic transmissions here in NY if you need more of em. Will be in the cl***ifieds shortly, one 1951 and one 1952.

small block chevy, small block chevy, small block chevy. did that piss you off enough? from what i have been observing latley, a lot of the guys on here either dont have a car now or there **** has been apart for 30 years. i can't help it, i have a small block and 5 speed and i drive it, something a lot of people dont do. also, price building a ford, chrsler, flathead, nailhead or hemi, then stand back and look again at the dependable popular, small block chevy.

True, you can almost buy parts for a sbc at Kroger but for me I'd rather see any motor but just to show some imagination.

Should I keep the 350 in my 62 F100 and stroke it out to a 383? I'd much rather find something different for my truck, but a 383 sounds like a good idea.
