I suppose I could put it on a trailer... I was thinking of using some of the door/window handles on my 50 though.

  6. So what have you concluded this thing was? That isn't the back end of a Victoria is it? That shot taken from the rear makes me think that.

Yeah. looks like the back of a victoria. someone might need some of that sheet metal who is working on a vicky. who knows.

I'd hang on to it for a while. I might even look for more of it!

I have just got into metal detecting myself. All I have found is new coins and bottle caps but I did find a distributor condenser Haha

Funny one Hackerbilt. I wonder how he found that particular thread? The power of the search engine.

I wish more people WERE digging up old cars etc. These threads are usually among the best, other than the build threads themselves! ;)

This thread's so old that car has probably gone to Europe via a Barrett Jackson phone bid by now.

^^^ Yes, the guy who dug it up was a spammer selling metal detecting stuff, he was reported and his post was removed so it looks like the guy after him brought it up.

Tell everyone you meet about your grandfather. The one who was a zillionaire because he patented a new valve assembly for cream separators. And how in 1933 when the government recalled all the gold currency he put his entire life savings, which were in gold coins, deeeeep in the backyard under some old junk cars...you're going to start digging in a few years when you retire. Mention that you are headed out for 2 weeks at Disney Land right now.
When you get back you will find everything dug up as though by magic!
It may be a few decades, though, before you get the rear lawn reestablished...
