Glad you got her fixed man. I've also found that DOT 4 high temp hydraulic fluid makes a big difference.

Phew! It's always good to get to the bottom of these things. And a relief!

Is this difference between 3 &4, or between 4&5??? Care to elaborate?

I think I had Dot 3 in my system and I found it to leak out of the TO bearing after sitting for a week or more. It would leave a puddle on the floor under the car. I worked fine and I simply topped up the reservoir each time.

I switched to Dot 4 and that problem disappeared.

Thx Josh, I'll get some Dot 4 when I get mine back together,. Will I have to totally clean out the Dot 3, or will a simple flush do the job? The TO hasn't had anything in it yet, and I can flush the Wilwood master cyl. before I hook it up to the TO.

Make sure you do not use silicone or synthetic fluid and never use dot 5 these will eat the seals in the throwout bearing. I have never used anything but dot 3 in the 3 mcleod bearings I have had in cars over the last 10 years and never had a leak

I had a problem when the slave was not level. It prevented all the air from getting out. Is your car LEVEL when you are bleeding the system? A thought. Hope you conquer the problem.

I'm not trying to be a smart *** or to rub salt in the wouds on the OP, but FoxSpeed it's quite evident you didnt read ALL THE THREAD before you posted, which often results, as it has here, in a case of engaging typing before brain is engaged, which is the primary cause of foot in mouth disease.

Thanks guys! I have used DOT 3 for many years and am using it again. I never had a problem with leaks after I changed over to DOT 3. Years ago I used hydraulic fluid and had problems then.
