Scored this little beauty at a local swap meet for $200. Does anyone know if parts are available? Looks like I need the front gears and input shaft (have case, front/rear covers, bearing plate, rotors, and threaded br*** inserts). Thx.
SCOT made a number of blower sizes the one you have is pretty small. The missing gears and drive shaft will be a challenge to find. Its possible to determine the rotor center line which will be metric from that the gear diameter can be determined. With a diameter figured out you can check for avalible gears from Boston gear.
I think H&H has the rights to Scot. <!-- / message --><!-- sig -->__________________ I think you are correct.
they are not making anything for this size of blower very hard to find parts for two small for large auto use ie flathead ford v8
Ronnieroadster has the right idea. It looks like you have all of the "nearly impossible to make" parts. I would start talking to machinists about the rest. To me, it seems worth it to have the other bits made. Think "Supercharged Crosley Powered Mini-rail"
I have the same blower, but more complete I'm happy to take any measurements you need I plan on hanging it on the side of a Banger .....just for something different
Per an April 1976 Street Rodder article on rebuilding the S.C.o.T., the rear bearings are Delco #5204 and the front bearings are Delco #6205. The drive shaft goes into the front cover before the cover goes on, but you will need CR seal # 7591 and a Delco bearing #6304. These numbers are for a larger S.C.o.T for the flathead, but were also valid for a smaller S.C.o.T. according to a HAMBer who had one. One person I sent this 4-page article to years ago said one of the part numbers has changed, but NAPA was able to cross reference the right number. If anyone would like this article, PM me with your email address and I will send it as an attachment.
Its your lucky day, I happen to have a really nice Scot blower that ill sell ya. If your interested let me know. Its ready to bolt on. Dave
