Fastest way to drain it is to pull the end cover off. Let it sit for 30 minutes or so. All the gear oil will run out through the bearings, but 90wt is kind of slow. I use a pump oil can to refill. It also takes a while to pump the 90wt back in. Fill through the plug in the end cover until it just starts to run out. Again, give it some time to run back into the front banjo area, and top off as needed. I cut some off the oil can's spout to get a larger opening. Another option is the plastic pump containers that Sta-Lube comes in.

Sprint car guys use a fill can attached to the ch***is with a hose to the QC. The can will hold the right amount of oil. Speedway Motors sells 'em or make your own. Saves time and h***le.

My method is a little messy. I squeeze lube into the main housing and rear cover until they are both over-filled, then let them drip for a few minutes until the fluid levels out. By the way, I'm using Valvoline Dura Blend 80/90, recommended by Halibrand. :)

V8 Bob is right on with the Valvoline Dura Blend 80/90 as it is what Halibrand says to use in everything I have been reading.

Ted Halibrand told me to use Sta-Lube 90wt when I bought my first quick change from him in 1960. It was good enough then, it's good enough now.

I have three plugs. What’s what? What oil to use? Is mine pictures ok? And how much does it take ?
    Thanks

Be careful if your quick change is using sealed bearings, you will need to fill the rear gear area separate from the front ring/pinion area! If your bearings are the older style open bearings then you can do as advised. Mine has sealed and when I take the rear cover off to mess with the QC gears it only drains the rear compartment. That would be an expensive mistake…
