Can you put steel in the doors of a 1936 chevy and if so how do you do it or can you get a kit ? I have a 36 chevy 4 door sedan deluxe and the wood is bad so I would to put steel in it Thanks for any help Robert Kirkpatrick.

I'm not pimpin' for another group but there is a 36 Chevy Owners group on Yahoo: http://autos.groups.yahoo.com/group/1936ChevyOwners/ Over the years I've belonged there's been a lot of discussion on there about removing wood and replacing with metal. I've done that to my 36 Town Sedan using mostly 3/4 sq. tubing. Doors are most difficult. You might look here for a sample of cars where various techniques have been used to replace or augment wood in 36s. http://demiurgiac.com/36wood/index.html You might find it helpful, or not, to join. Both rodders and restorers so not strictly a rodders site and not restricted to traditional rods. Both sides get along and no one tolerates fighting or *****ing, insulting etc. though different points of view are fine as long as done respectfully. Jerry
