Got the bags in and all hooked up today, gotta go back in the front end tomorrow and make a little bit more clearance since things are really tight in some spots right now. I love these fucking things! It's not quite as low as I thought it would be, but the mufflers are about a half inch off the ground so i guess I can live with it!

J, what bags did you go with? Did you notch the frame? What brackets? That's low for most....

Got the Airlift crafter pack from kustombuilder, no one makes brackets for the buicks so I had to fab em'. It was pretty straight forward though since the car was coil spring on all fours. No frame notch, it's just sitting on the bump stops.....

Sittin' real nice. I also like the way the current rolling stock fills the wheel-wells. Get the body and paint done - then decide.

Now that I keep looking at it... those rims gotta go. But if you go Daytons or Tru-spokes, you're definitely locking-in on a lowrider-style car. Especially since you plan to flake the shit outta the roof (and any other body panel that doesn't move). And there's no rule that says a Buick wagon can't impersonate an Impala. But there's no way you can impersonate a lowrider. :D

I'm not really building this one to suit me this time. I got screwed when I sold the 53 and lost a ton of money so I'm building this one to where I'll still like it, but it'll have no problem selling around here.
Hopefully I'll get all the bugs worked out of this thing today and be cruising it again.

Dayyyuuuummmm! Looks good man...just think, I traded all that coolness for a raggedy old 4-dr... Didja have to do anything to the exhaust on the rear, or did it clear ok? If you didn't trim the bump stops, you can cut them off and get the mufflers on the ground...they need to come off and put on something louder anyway ... now get the bugs worked out, and get busy sanding... panels and lace...that's what it needs...

The bumpstops were trimmed, but they're coming all the way off tonight:D

I had to cut the exhaust off at the end or the rear doors, it was routed right where the bag sits, I'm just gonna turn it out towards the rear door and call it good where it won't get crunched.

Have a few bugs to work out, couple of small leaks, need to trim some more in the front. started on it this morning. I'm gonna be sick of taking the frontend apart and back together again by the time this is through. Glad I went back threw it though, I noticed the retard that was helping me bent the wrong end of all the cotter pins so they would've just worked their way out...

actually, the buick wires you would want are almost exactly like tru-spokes, tru-spokes were copies of the buick wire wheel. they'll cost a helluva lot more than tru-spokes too!

i dig the cragars on that car.

I'm gonna see who I can find that sells tru spokes.....worked on the bags more tonight the fron tis lower now, front cross member is about 1/2 inch off that ground. I can crush cans easily! Gotta take out the rear bump stops tomorrow and double check that nothing is rubbing!

Actually the ones I originally posted aren't the ones you want. Look at the pic now. You want 53-54 Buick wire wheels. man, that reminds me of the movie Boulevard Nights when Chuco was arguing with the guy at his work.

My thoughts Exactly. Looks Great. I took the Bumpstops out completely on my 63 LeSabre and Jut trimmed the Front stops down to just Above the Bolts. You should Be able to get it to set down on the Frame.:D

Man.. that things sittin nice and low. Love them old wagons. As for wheels... I'd say some spokes, bout 50-60 should be right. Nothing more than bout 17 inch though.. otherwise you'll be defeating the purpose of the bags. And put on those THIN white walls. Bout 1/4 inch wide. That'll set if off nice I think. Just my $.02
