Have had this old 60s built T bucket for a while...when I first got it..it had horrible centerline wheels...put some wheel vintiques OE style wheels on it with old cheater slicks and period front tires and think it made a big improvement...the paint is kind of like a candy blue in color. I think the car was built in the early to mid 60s...has the entire drivetrain from a '57 Chevy...283, cast iron powerglide and rearend. Even the rear spiral shocks appear to be '57 Chevy. Cool old chrome bits...hand made and chromed headers. What do you guys think?

Also...there was a small ink stamp under the upholstered bed cover that says "Budz Paint" Westminster CA...anyone ever heard of that shop?

When I got it had Centerlines...really looked like crap on this car. I found the tires over the months at a few swap meets..and thought this was the perfect car to put them on...glad you guys like it. The motor is a little tame..a cool tripower or 6x2 setup would really fit the bill...I think

That would look right at home cruising down the street in 1963, way cool! Now get out the polish and give that radiator some love!

Not heavily into buckets, but this one is just RIGHT.
When it's right it's right. You have made all the right changes.

Old tin...thanks....a wise car guy (Groucho) told me that the biggest change you can make in a cars appearance are the wheels and tires...I think he is right....

yes, and let me tell you, not everything I see on the HAMB ends up in my stash. Maybe about 10%. LOVE the headers and mufflers especially. Looks DAMN good.

bet those stagger-bolt Cal Custom valve covers arent easy to find either.

Falcongeorge....we are pretty spoiled down here in Socal.... I see about 5-6 sets of staggered Cal Custom at nearly every swap I go to...these have been on this car forever though..I will list some more pics of the car soon....

man, I'll say! Around here, you'd be hard pressed to find ANY Cal Custom valve covers at any given swap meet! I am planning/hoping for a LARS pilgramige for 2015.

That thing is the cats' meow! You always come up with the cool s*it!
You know how you can tell it is an early 60's built aside the obvious drivetrain?
The Chrysler alternator! First on the scene!

Jon...I agree about the alternator...I seem to remember a Hot Rod article in the early 60s about the Chrysler alternator....I think it dates the build too...I think if it was built after the mid to late 60s they would have used a GM alternator....

Its a glass body on a custom made frame....it had tailights that looked like a recent addition (subtraction)...they looked like they were trailer lights. Dont know what it had originally...some '50 Pontiac taillights in the bed would be cool. I threw the T on Ebay...have to thin the herd so I can move forward with my other projects...plus im way too tall/big for this car....picture a circus bear and youre close.

Yep those were swapped over to non Mopar products not long after they came out on Chrysler Corp products.

The wheels and tires match the original build perfectly.

Massively awesome!!! I can't even begine to picture that car on Centerlines, even though I kinda like them in the right time frame. Very good choice on the tire wheel combo. This is sorta what I have been talking about in my T-Bucket thread in a bit "lighter" way. Finding a reasonably well built car and making it right with the details... Your was far "righter" from the start!

You know, I have never been able to find much love in my heart for the looks of Centerlines, even at the time. Didnt help that when they came out, they pushed the Cragar SS off the stage...

I don't know if "Early Times" or South Bay "T-Timers" members are still around, but I'm sure any of them could give you good history on the car.
Buckets were the hot item in the So Cal '60's.
Never heard of Budz in Westminister, but Watson was the standard for sure. Great paint, not overdone.
