    Gang,

Anyone notice the nifty mod Dennis Novy posted about his A coupe on p128 of the Jan 14 SR? I don't have a photo so share, but he installed a STOCK Chevy Tri-5 vent window on his coupe and it fits / looks perfect. Anyone know Dennis?

His mods look a lot like the external wind deflector on this car, but is fully functional and shuts flat with the window gl***. Gary

I saw this and plan to do it. I think it's a great idea if you like wing windows like I do. I've never seen it done before.

Caught my eye right away. Already have my parts in hand to do the conversion. Plan to do a step by step photo of the project when I do my doors. One thing that the article didn't mention is that the window regulator needs to be relocated. I suppose that this mod is "traditional" as the article states that it was first done in 1959.

Isn't it funny how guys with vent windows want them gone and guys without them want them?

I bet I'm not the only one who would be interested in seeing your thread on that! I'm not going to start getting parts just yet, as any chop will be the last thing I decide upon - but I'm still planning for an unchopped A coupe / SC. Thanx, Gary

I would think that now with the wing window in place you would want the regulator moved back to balance the smaller side gl***. It looks like a nice mod, for a Model A. I'd consider putting one in my coupe.

If you have ever ridden in an "A" at 70mph with the windows down, you know why the vents are a good idea. The vents fit real well in a standard height door.

I think its the people who install a/c that want them removed and I would like to add them to my 37 Chevy p/u,no way in hell would I ever remove vent windows from the doors.

  14. I love vent windows!
I've been thinking on how to do them on a chopped Vicky.
