Beautiful. Is that a Star Chief? I love the extra-long trunks on those.

I'm wondering to install air ride for the Pontiac this winter. Can anyone help me finding a kit witch will nearly fit? Do I need 4-link? I want it as cheap, good and easy as possible! :)

When you cut the coils, was it "2 coils" on a loaded spring or unloaded?

    Thank you! :D

2 coils on a unloaded sprig. Rides good, but the rear axle sometime hits the frame :/
    Now I want a c-notch, 4-link and air ride.

I'm also wondering to paint the roof. What do you guys think of brown metal flake?

I would not touch that roof - you will spoil the nostaglic feel of that car.
Also the stance is perfect - I wouldn't mess with it - the rear's will bottom out on these cars - live with it.
That car is one beautiful piece of 50's American automobile art.

Al's right, you pretty much got it nailed. Sometimes the trick with mild customs is knowing where to stop. Looks damn good the way it is.:)

Long time sice I visited this site.
Thanks for the nice compliments! :)

The car actually runs really good! I had to remove the original "rubberbumpers" on the rear axle, and install some small ones in the frame. Sometimes the axle hits the rubber a bit hard, but thats it.

Now the both me and the car is waiting for the summer and alot of cruising.
I haven't decided what changes I will do this winter jet. As a student, I can't afford everything i would like to do..
New interior, painting the roof, re-chrome the front bumper, or install 4-link and do a c-notch?

A little summary of some of the nice trips this summer. I'm one of about twenty members of Yttervika Rock & Amcar Club, take a look if you want. https://www.facebook.com/pages/Yttervika-Rock-Amcar-Club/291779509631?fref=ts

This is some pictures from where I live, Cl***ic Car Week in Rättvik in Sweden, Coupe Devils Rod & Custom Bonanza and the cruising 4. of July. :) A great summer!

You said that you took out 2 coils and put in 4" blocks, what does that make you ride height? What is the ground distance to your frame? I'm asking because I'm doing a 54 Chieftain currently and I am close to putting in a 1982 Jag XJ6 front suspension. Will take some doing but I feel confident. Thanks for the information.

The height has about the same height all around. Maybe lightly lower in the rear. I can't measure the height from the ground since the car is parked away for a few months, but it's alot of clearance. I guess 4-5 inches up to the frame and 3 inches to the rear strut mount.

Well It looks great, you did a fantastic job. I'm replacing the flat head six with a 400 pontiac engine and 400 auto transmission. Do you have any advise or recommendations?

Looks GREAT! But, then I'm partial. I'm currently running a crate 350HO with a 700R and stock rear (rebuilt) and cruises the highway great, plus good on gas.
