Anyone else here collect Ford Times Magazine?

After a few year searching I have finally been able to complete a set from 1954 but haven't found any for 1932. HRP

I've got about 30 issues, mostly 1959-1962, compliments of Jefferson County Motor Co., Dandridge, Tennessee. My Dad always bought Fords from them and I also managed to procure a few dealer promo models from there as well. I always looked forward to getting the newest issue of Ford Times to read about places I probably would never get to visit. Lots of great history lessons in them as well...........Don.

My girlfriends dad has some from the forties that he is trying to sell. There is an issue about Texas that uses some very politically incorrect terms. I don't think the ford people would be too cool with it now.

The 1940's was a completely different time,we didn't live in a politically correct world,Henry wasn't really know to be politically correct.

You can't change the past, we only learn from it, remember those that choose not to learn from the past are doomed to repeat it. HRP

Yup, ya cant put today's morals on the past.
Watch a W.C.Fields movie and cringe.
Not to mention the cars that get beat up,,,,,BAD.
I too saw a box of them at an estate sale. I made an offer on the whole box and a dude behind me doubled it and went home the winner.
My loving wife let him know our gross dissatisfaction.
Something about size and his thumb.

I have about 20 copies. Mostly from the 70's. Me and a friend bought a box of them at a swap meet and divided them up. I hung on to the ones with model 40's and a few others.

I have found a few more to add to the collection.

    This is from Wikipeda..

Ford Times was a monthly publication produced by Ford Motor Company. The first issue was published on April 15, 1908. It remained in publication until 1996. The magazines were similar to Reader's Digest and Yankee. Ford Times magazines were 4x6 inches in size. Each issue usually consisted of several stories about destinations for sports or vacations or of historic interest, by such writers as Edward Ware Smith, Corey Ford, Bernard De Voto, and Edward Weeks as well as promotional information about current Ford vehicles. Early issues were monochrome. Issues in the 1950s and 1960s featured many paintings. Arthur Lougee was the art director then of both the Ford company's New England Journeys, Ford Times and Lincoln Mercury Times. He featured in these publications dozens of America's contemporary watercolor artists such as John Whorf, Henry McDaniel, Forrest Orr, Glenn MacNutt, Loring Coleman, Stuart Eldridge, Paul Sample, King Coffin, Maxwell Mays, Robert Paul Thorpe, Estelle Coniff, Glen Krause, JWS Cox, C Robert Perrin, Edward Turner, Ward Cruickshank II, Alphonse J Shelton, RJ Holden, Dorothy Manuel, Frederick James, William Barss, Campbell Tinning, Eunice Utterback, Andrew Winter. Paintings by Charley Harper and Henry E McDaniel were often on the covers.

The early issues are rarely seen but I keep looking. HRP

I had no idea they went back as far as 1908. Sure would be fun if someone has any really early ones for them to scan the covers at least and post them.:)

Is the mag still a publication of FoMoCo or does the Early Ford v8 club of America handle that now?

Dad bought a new Ford in '51 and '59. I loved those little magazines. They stayed here for decades but I can find them any more.

Question: I'm sure they came with a new Ford purchase but for how long?

I recall those magazines showing up at our house after my dad bought a new 57 Ford Del Rio sw. Saw them around the house for years. Wish I had the car or even the magazines. Car rusted to the ground & the magazines got thrown away each month.
