Does anyone happen to have a picture of Ralph Mouth's RPU? Just watched the Happy Days Reunion on tv and just got me thinkin'. I never really got to look at that thing. Every time you saw it on tv it was just for a flash.
The guy has it on a website. Looks like he takes it to shows all the time. I think it was happydayshotrod.com or something very similar to that. Do a google search for it and it should come up.
There was an article in a street rod magazine back in the late 70s about the truck. I think they said it started out as dodge or something different, rather than the ford. It may been in Street Rodder or another mag.
Dude your such an ***..i'm laughing my *** off over here.. I saw the truck in York a few years back.. it was cool to see it in person after growing up watching the show. The 'faux' headers are sure different. SBC's turned upside down and bolted to brackets on the frame..
OT but You just reminded me of when my sister was doing a crossword and she asked me "Who the ***** on Happy Days? Potsey." The answer was Erin Moran. The question was "The Moran of Happy Days" I thought it was funny at the time.
it was on display at ...jalopy rama ...last year in baltimore md, anyone know if its going to be there this week end? later kb
Along the Happy Days deal, and O/T, I was sitting in our local airport a few months ago, and this airport has one gate, one flight in and one flight out per day, a real dinky place. I am sitting waiting to board, and here is this nice-looking red haired lady across the waiting room. I kept thinking I know this lady, I KNOW this lady, and finally it hit me... when we made eye contact, I gave her my best Arthur Fonzarelli thumbs-up and "AAAAaaayyy, HIya Mrs. C" and sure as hell, it was Marion Ross, Mrs. Cunningham. Got to talk to her all the way down to San Francisco, about the show and etc. I guess she was visiting her sister, who lives near here. Even got photos to prove it. Real nice lady.
It's funny... no way was the Ralph Malph character cool enough to drive that RPU. Bad writing, or casting, or something....
i think it was in one of the mags that the car was never used for anything other than the opening credits....neat ride ......anyone wanting to buy a sedan body ....hahha brandon
Just ask Mike Szuba at mikesjalopy@comcast.net I believe he is in charge of the invites for the in door show.
Metalshapes just finished one that looks alot like that but different color and its for sale and is a screamin deal. Maybe you have seen it here before.
Yep, that's what i thinkin'. That's a good way to keep the show fresh and new year after year, but maybe with the exception of the mint green shoebox becasue I think its red now with different wheels.
I liked when Potsie sang that "pumps your blood" song. That and when Mork showed up. What a ridiculous piece of writing that was. "Why don't we throw a wacky alien that says 'shazzbot' into our period piece 50s sitcom? That ought to get big ratings!" I'm still kind of irritated about older brother Chuck though. What a scam. He's sort of a Pete Best if you ask me.
