History Are These Old Rod Pics HAMB Friendly?

Discussion in 'Traditional Hot Rods' started by superiorslots, Dec 8, 2013.

  1. Wer did an ongoing '70s thread a year or so back that had some really corney '70s stuff in it. It also had some tastefully built rods in it as well, like the ones you have posted. I am not large and in charge but I am willing to look and not ***** too much.

here is a thing to remember in the '70s not everyone built "'70s" cars. There were a lot of people that were building with the older fellas cast offs and their cars were sort of traditional to transitional in nature. Outside of the biox there were lots of cars built that were drop dead gorgeous.

The guy in the back has cuffs. LOL. Rolling your chinos when they are too long will never go out of style. I bought lots of jeans from the good will in the '70s that I had to roll. Seems like lots of us bought our cloths from a thrift store in that era.

Great pics. Not many pro cars then and except for T buckets ,there were few store bought parts. Sometimes the thing I miss most, is talking to the owner who also built the car.

A couple of the t-buckets really knock me out. Really liked the black one with the sbf and tripps as well as the red one with the injected poncho.

REALLY hoping theres more pics of that lime gold bob-tail t with the chromies and white t&r. Ring any bells with anyone? Looks like a Weezner drawing come to life. It would have been a pretty dated car in the seventies, I would guess it was probably upwards of ten years old at the time that photo was shot.

This car was built by Andy Brizio and was imported to England years ago. It is still around now.

Great pics! That first pic is my mom & dad talking with a friend, & the 3w is a friend who still has it. My dad built the sedan from the ground up, chop, paint & all. It was the family sedan from 1969 to near present, a friend owns it now. Here are the pics of how it evolved over the years, with the last pic of how it is today. 32d.jpg nat039.jpg Toledo%20Car%20Show%20#%2013.jpg 7.jpg 492.jpg

Here is a local (Concord NC) car built in 1970. It was allowed to rot outside for years. The guy recently wanted $3000 for it. We went to get it and it was SOLD!! He said the guy bought it, put in a runner and sold it for $9500. Its just weird enough to have been cool.[IMG]

A lot of the were built in a one car garage
A lot of these cars were built in one car garages by some guys who were fresh home from the jungle. Pretty amazing efforts considering.
