Austin, TX advise/suggestions

So, were heading out to Austin the first week of the coming new year for a
friends wedding (no, I couldn't talk him out of it).
I was just looking for some suggestions on what else to take in while we are out there of the Hot Rod or Music variety....... Shops, shows, happenings?

Looks like we will be staying in the south congress area, a heads up on anything cool going on would be appreciated.
