tjet, Here are some pics of the throw out bearing linkage. Its all old school and stiff but works pretty well. Offy adapter, early for peddles, early ford stock throw out bearing. I have a 10" clutch & pressure plate so I has to bevel the inside edge of the Offy adapter for clearance and enlarge the hole a bit for the linkage arm. Also had to grind the 34 ford trans case for pressure plate clearance where the case buldges for the throw out bearing pivot shaft. The last photo is of when I had a small block hooked up but you can see the linkage well which is the same.
Cross Rodder - thanks for the details. On your extended bell hemi, did you need to cut the bell for the clutch fork linkage? I have a hot heads Muncie adapter that's "flat". I would need to cut a notch in the bell about 4"x6" & use a early vette fork & Z-bar. I plan on dropping my 52 331 & 4 speed into a generic T=bucket kit, like the ones that speedway sells. I want to make sure there's clearance for the extended bell + clutch linkage + pedal assy. It looks like my gas pedal will be on top of my bellhousing (partially) Here is another pic of a t-bucket kit - see how tight it is? Noland has a similar build to yours, but he installed swinging pedals, whereas you are using an under-the-floor arrangement. I think yours would give me more clearance...see below http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=647364&page=9 Anyway - sorry to hijack. Just wanted to pick your brain - dont want to reinvent the wheel Here's what I'm thinking about http://www.nehrspeedcraft.com/T14.html
I'm not sure this counts being it's just in the Thinking stage but I do have it all, Well mostly. If I just had more time. The Wizzard
Here is mine. It is a '56 354 factory 2x4 engine out of a 300. I have a muncie transmission behind it and a Ford 9 inch rear.
Sorry tjet, been away from the HAMB for a while. No cutting required for my little Ford 3 spd. I would try not to cut that bell if possible. CR

Just wondered what the "sweet spot" is with the Hemi engine. That is, is there a particular Hemi that guys find best suits these kind of cars?
Someday, its a lifetime goal, 354 in a '30 Roadster on '32 rails, a car I could have built in 1962. Bob http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=524321
As far as which one fits better, the Desoto is shorter by a little so the grill and radiator can be back a little more on the Desoto. 330 Desoto version : 392 version:
